Homework Policy
The school places a high degree of importance on homework because work done at home can be of real and unique educational value to the pupil and forms a vital link between home and school. Parental involvement in homework is extremely important. All pupils receive a homework diary at the start of each school year that contains full information regarding the school policy and homework timetables.
Class teachers will periodically check the diaries and ensure that they are used correctly so that the schools’ homework is effective and home school communication is as efficient as possible.
The nature of homework may vary from subject to subject. Time allocation for completion of homework will vary from one night to several days. This will enable pupils to accept responsibility for arranging their own work, to avoid overloading on any one night.
Homework timetables are currently only provided for Year 7 and 8.
